Foley Artist work- recording and distorting train whistle sounds.

In our film opening at the end of the clip before the title sequence comes in we have decided to record and distort a classic train whistle sound. We hope to use this sound when the antagonist makes his first kill. We think using this will help the audience to make the connection from the whistle to the storyline. The whistle that we have used is quite old therefore it makes our antagonist seem as if he is older and come from a time period where these whistles were used.
We recorded five or six different whistle sounds using QuickTime Player. We tried to vary the sound and length of the whistle sounds so we would have more options when it comes to choosing the right fit for our film opening.

This clip shows the original version of the sound and the edited distorted sound.

This is the train whistle we used for the recording.
